Income tax return, or a Certificate of Non-Filing
BIR Form 2316 for employed parents; a Certificate of Tax Exemption or Non-Filing if a parent doesn't file.
- What it is
- Proof of your family's income, for need-based scholarships.
- Where to get it
- An employed parent asks their employer's HR for BIR Form 2316. A parent with no filed return asks the BIR office (RDO) where they are registered.
- Cost
- Form 2316 is free from the employer. The BIR may charge a small fee for certificates.
- How long to allow
- About 14 days — ask sooner if you can.
Tips
- Each working parent needs their own.
- Overseas workers: ask what the scholarship accepts instead (often a contract or payslip).
Offices, fees and processing times change and differ between places; this is a guide, not a promise. Iskoop never asks you to upload documents — keep them yourself.
